There are more potential therapies in the CF drug development pipeline today than in the entire history of cystic fibrosis research.
The development of new therapies involves new conceptual approaches; these therapies await proof of concept before being accepted as useful means to arrest the progression of the disease. Those “new conceptual approaches” have now advanced, and are on the verge of becoming new therapeutic options. Through these enduring materials, CF clinicians will be better able to integrate information about these emerging therapies into fundamental therapies in current clinical practice strategies for managing patient expectations.
The program is supported by an educational grant from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Incorporated.
